DES MOINES, Iowa — A September trial has been scheduled for a Des Moines man accused of fatally shooting his neighbor.

Court records say 30-year-old Patrick Kirwan has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the slaying of 35-year-old Mark Hruska. Officers say they found Hruska's body at a residence next to Kirwan's near the Des Moines International Airport on March 1. Police say they think the men had been arguing before the shooting.

Kirwan's trial is scheduled to begin on Sept. 14.
