PERRY, Oklahoma — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded two small earthquakes near Perry and one near Guthrie, including one with a preliminary magnitude of 4.1.

There are no reports of injury or damage.

The USGS says the 4.1 magnitude quake was recorded at 11:42 a.m. Wednesday, 13 miles west of Perry, about 50 miles north of Oklahoma City. The quake followed a magnitude 3.0 temblor in the same area at 10:06 a.m.

The geological survey also reports a magnitude 3.1 earthquake seven miles south of Guthrie at 12:25 a.m. The area is about 20 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans and that damage is not likely from earthquakes below magnitude 4.0.
