GREENVILLE, South Carolina — A Wisconsin pastor is being officially installed as the fifth president of Bob Jones University in Greenville.

The investiture ceremony for Steve Pettit is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Founder's Memorial Amphitorium on campus.

Pettit is coming to Bob Jones University after heading the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Association and serves as the national director for Cross Impact Ministries, a Brookfield, Wisconsin, group which helps local churches reach out to college students.

Pettit replaces Stephen Jones who stepped down as president of the university in May for health reasons.

The university says Gov. Nikki Haley will speak at the ceremony and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham will attend.

Bob Jones University is a fundamentalist Christian school with about 3,000 students.
