SHARPVILLE, Indiana — A 17-year-old male from central Indiana was killed when a car he was driving left the road and struck a tree.

State police say Devin Majors of Sharpsville, 10 miles south of Kokomo, was killed in the crash about 4:15 a.m. Saturday in Tipton County. The Tipton County Sheriff's Department reports Major's 2010 Chevrolet Malibu left the road, he overcorrected and struck the tree broadside on the driver's side door.

He was pronounced dead at the crash scene. A 13-year-old male passenger was brought by helicopter to a Fort Wayne hospital with non-life threatening internal injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
