CHEYENNE, Wyoming — No one hit the jackpot, but nearly 7,700 people who bought lottery tickets in Wyoming this week received some kind of payback.

The Wyoming Lottery Corp. reports that nearly 4,900 players won a total of about $21,000 in the first Mega Millions drawing Tuesday night and just over 2,800 players won a total of about $25,000 during the Powerball drawing Wednesday night.

The largest winner was $2,500 for a Mega Millions ticket sold in Riverton. Two others won $500 each. Five people won $300 in the Powerball game.

Wyoming began selling lottery tickets for the first time on Sunday.

Mega Millions drawings are on Tuesdays and Fridays, while Powerball numbers are picked on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The current estimated Powerball jackpot is $90 million, and Mega Millions is $20 million.
