Harold L. Toon, 73, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born April 14, 1939, in Beech Grove to the late Harold E. and Floy (Woods) Toon.
He was a 1958 graduate of Martinsville High School and was employed as a job setter for Allison Transmission Division of General Motors in Indianapolis.
He married Joretta J. Snyder on Feb. 8, 1962, in Morgantown. She survives.
Harold was a member of New Whiteland Baptist Church and American Legion Post 205 in Franklin.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Other survivors include a son, Michael L. Toon; a daughter, Rebecca A. (David) Gerlach; a brother, William D. (Joan) Toon; a sister, Virginia K. (Kenneth) Woodall; two grandchildren, Matthew D. and Jeanna M. Gerlach; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Benjamin J. and Charles P. Toon.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood following the service.
