Evelyn Doris (Warrell) Cook, 91, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at her home at the Franklin United Methodist Community.
She was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Muncie, to Edna and Dewey Warrell, and graduated from Muncie Central High School.
She married Lendel J. Cook on Sept. 12, 1941.
Before moving to Franklin, she was a member of Industry United Methodist Church in Muncie.
After moving to Franklin in 1961, she worked in the occupational therapy department and retired from the Indiana Masonic Home. Known as “Cookie” by most at Franklin United Methodist Community, she was a delight to everyone who knew her.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star 605 in Franklin, Franklin Business and Professional Women and Franklin Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lendel J. Cook; her daughter, Cynthia Diane Cook; her parents, Edna and Dewey Warrell; and a brother, Oliver.
She is survived by a son, Darrell Lin Cook and his wife, Janet; a granddaughter, Janalin Kay Watson, and her husband, Bradley; and three great-grandchildren, Elana, Joel and Bethany Watson.
The Revs. David Owens and John Elliott will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Franklin United Methodist Community, Wright Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be sent to the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin, IN, 46131.
Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Vandivier-Tudor Chapel.
