Patricia Lorain Castagnola
Patricia Lorain (Casto) Castagnola, 70, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at her residence in Franklin.
She was born Dec. 4, 1943, in Gilmer County, West Virginia, to Willy Wilbur Casto and Mildred Zola (Hitt) Casto.
She married her soul mate, Donald J. Castagnola, on Aug. 2, 1980, in Mount Clare, West Virginia; he survives.
She was a teacher for Johnson County Special Services for 17 years.
She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin, enjoyed square dancing and was an avid camper.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Donald J. Castagnola of Franklin; a daughter, Stacia Barton (Greg) of Franklin; a son, Allan Apple (Laura) of Southport; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Winfred “Winnie” Hayhurst of Mount Clare, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Krystal Apple; two brothers, Dale and Bobby Casto; and a sister, Ann Singleton.
Doug Weddle will conduct a service at 6 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until service time Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Missionary Baptist Church of Franklin in care of the mortuary.
