Helen L. Sanders Noone, 79, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, in Greenwood.
She was born to the late Carl W. and Mary (Hinz) Sanders and raised in Indianapolis with her three sisters, Mary Jean Balla, Dorothy Hamilton and the late Dolores Wells.
Helen was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, class of 1952, and married her high school sweetheart, John Thomas, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Feb. 11, 1956. Helen was a caring daughter and sister, a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother who always put others ahead of herself.
She grew up with three sisters but raised a large family of mostly boys. She often said, “I really didn’t know what I was doing, but I always did it with love.” And it’s this love for which she’ll always be fondly remembered and cherished.
Helen is survived by her husband, John; eight children and their spouses, Tim Noone (Linda), Denise Wood (John), Kevin Noone (Jane), Tom Noone (Susan), Dan Noone (Choung), Joe Noone (Josie), Paul Noone and Kathleen Mickel (Richard); 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Family and friends will gather from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis. A brief service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 S. Union St., Indianapolis. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the caring staff at Greenwood Village South for their many kindnesses to Helen these past few months.
