Janice Sue Pursley, 74, of Fairland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1939, in London, Kentucky, to Shellie and Lula (Alsip) Anders.
She married Richard Lee Pursley on Sept. 2, 1959, and he preceded in death on Dec. 24, 1997.
Mrs. Pursley was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxillary Unit 70 and Eagles Lodge of Shelbyville and was known as the “Egg Lady” on CB Radio.
Survivors include sons, William (Bunrueng) Pursley and Donnie Pursley, both of Shelbyville; daughters, Mary (Doug) Smith of Edinburgh and Peggy (Jimmy) Spaw of Morristown; companion, Richard Wayne Phares; sister, Leona (Jessie) Craig of Shelbyville; brother, Lonnie (Connie) Anders of Shelbyville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one great-grandson, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, with American Auxillary Legion rites being conducted at 7 p.m. by Unit 70 Memorial Team. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Smith officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
