Nancy Leora Miles

Nancy Leora Miles, 64, Whiteland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014.

Born June 19, 1950, in Plymouth to the late Senn Kiefer and Margaret Irene Toomire, she was a 1968 Rochester High School graduate and graduated from the University of Southern Indiana. There she majored in elementary education and minored in library science.

She worked as a librarian/media specialist at Clinton Young Elementary School.

In 1978, she joined Greenwood Christian Church, where she taught Bible study and was very active in choir.

An avid traveler, she enjoyed stamping and card stamps, gardening and snow skiing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kim R. Miles, on March 30, 2007; brother-in-law, Tracy L. Miles; and half brother, Phil Toomire, who lived in Portshire, Maine.

Survivors include her in-laws, Scott T. and Cindy Miles; her aunt, June Weber; five cousins, Sandra (Max) Blocher, Louanne Weber, Pat (Steve) Betten, David (Susan) Weber, Debra (Darryl) Peters; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. The Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at I.O.O.F. cemetery in Rochester.
