Carl C. McClure
Carl C. McClure, 79, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014. He was a resident of New Whiteland.
He was born on Jan. 7, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, to Henry Lee and Bessie Mae (Hasty) McClure.
He married Sarah Ann (Setser) McClure on April 18, 1959. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Peggy Ann and husband, Tim Chancellor, of Evansville, Carl Michael McClure and wife, Rhonda Brown, of Nineveh, R.J. and wife, Kelly McClure, of Greenwood and Daniel Lee McClure of New Whiteland; grandchildren Jordan Chancellor, Reid Chancellor, Chasity McClure and Luke McClure, Nickolas Bryant and Justin Bryant; and great-grandchildren, Dezirae and Jaylen; and siblings, Nancy (John) Patch of Waynesburg, Kentucky, Glenna (Robert) Jones of Franklin, Denneth McClure of Franklin and Virginia Sue (Campbell) Maness of Salem.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
He attended school in Kentucky.
Carl was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring after several years of service. He later was employed by Colonial Baking Co. in Indianapolis, retiring after many years of service.
He was a member of Whiteland Baptist Church.
Carl was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
Pastor Fred Brown will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Horner’s Chapel Cemetery in Salem, with military honors being conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carl to the Friendship Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1600 Westview Drive, Franklin, IN 46131.
