David D. Sparks
David D. Sparks, 43, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis.
He was born April 28, 1971, in Salem.
He had been a driver for Heritage Crystal Clean in Indianapolis for five years.
He was a member of Nineveh Christian Church. He enjoyed drag racing, building racecars, motorcycles and the outdoors and was a warmhearted, loving man who cared for his wife, children and his family.
His son Logan Sparks was his world, as were his extended children.
He married Mindy (Kottlowski) Benge Sparks on July 19, 2014, in Franklin, and she survives. Other survivors include his children, Logan D. Sparks, Chesney B. Benge and Brody T. Benge, all of Franklin; his mother, Janie (Sparks) Ingersoll of Franklin; a sister, Sylvia Anuez (Manolo); mother-in-law, Teri Johnson, and stepfather-in-law, Don Johnson, of Nineveh; stepbrothers, Bobby Ingersoll and Nathan Ingersoll, both of Mobile, Alabama, and Winfield Ingersoll of Okeechobee, Florida; stepsister, Linda Robertson (Dave) of Okeechobee, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ingersoll; grandparents, Henry and Elsie Sparks; and a stepbrother, Van Ingersoll.
The Revs. Tom Knight and Don Klutz will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
