Alma Jean Stewart Zike, 77, of Indianapolis, was born Feb. 19, 1937, and passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
Jean was born in Grayson County, Kentucky, and was raised in Nineveh.
Jean was employed by and retired from Ameritech after 31 years of service. She then started her own business of title searching, retiring in January 2012. She enjoyed her work and the people she worked with.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Myrtle Mudd; sister, Freida Gaines; and brother-in-law, Garnett Gaines.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Michael Zike; daughter, Monica Merry (Martin); son, Gregory Stewart (Kimberly); stepson, Michael Zike Jr. (Robin); brothers, Charles Mudd (Jennie) and Danny Mudd (Gava); sister, Doris Gifford (Tom); and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 W. County Road 300S, Franklin. A meal will follow.
Arrangements are being handled by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.
