David Eugene Overbeck
David Eugene Overbeck, 61, born Nov. 1, 1952, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was a resident of Greenwood.
David was the loving spouse of Robbin Kay Voorhies Overbeck, father to seven children, U.S. Army Sgt. Todd David Overbeck, U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class David Matthew (Rhea) Overbeck, Regenia (Timothy) Crouse, Barbara Holden, John Paul (Emily) Brashers, Jennifer Brashers and Jessica Brashers; and grandfather to 15. He was the brother of Edward (Sally) Overbeck, John (Donna) Overbeck, Michael (Carol) Overbeck and Allen (Ruth) Overbeck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Rose Gallagher and Robert Elmer Overbeck.
David worked in aerospace engineering most of his career. He was employed by Tube Processing Corp. for 26 years, Rolls-Royce and the last nine years at Sargent Controls in Franklin.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his Harley-Davidson and camping. His biggest hobby was building the Emporium Flea Markets.
David was a loving and gentle family man who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all he knew.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Showing for family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood.
