Gladys A. Jones
Gladys A. Jones, 93, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Mabel, Minnesota, to Andrew and Alma (Opsahl) Flattum.
She married Elvis Jones on March 23, 1946. He preceded her in passing Aug. 2, 1994.
Gladys is survived by their children, Rita Curry, Donna Linneman, Craig (Becky) Jones, Gary (Rita) Jones and Jeff (Therese Sandhage) Jones; grandchildren, Kim, Tammy, Michelle, Chris, Chad, Eric and Erin, Angela, Andrea and Brent, Emily and Amanda, and Jason and Billy; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Elvis; a son, Dennis Jones; a grandson, Dennis Michael Linneman; and 12 brothers and sisters.
During World War II, Gladys worked for Rock Island Arsenal in the office and at Walgreens.
She was a homemaker.
Gladys was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Franklin. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. She truly enjoyed her outings with her children, shopping and going to lunch.
The Rev. Roger Daene will conduct a celebration of Gladys’ life at noon Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
