Marjorie L. Stout, 91, of Franklin and lifelong resident of Union Township passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Franklin United Methodist Community.
She was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Union Township to Elbert and Gladys (Pierce) Clem. She married Lowell R. Stout on May 8, 1940. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1991.
She retired as head cashier after 35 years at Bargersville State Bank. She was a member of Providence Christian Church where she was active in Educators. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and spending winters in Florida. She especially enjoyed and was an avid fan of Lawrence Welk.
Survivors include her son, Lowell J. Stout (Charlotte) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; daughter-in-law, Lydia A. (Reynolds) Stout, of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Tim Stout (Julie) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jody Bridges (Scott) of Morgantown, J. Randy Stout (Linda) of Franklin and Matt Stout (Krista) of Norwalk, Iowa; eight great-grandchildren, Stephen Wolfgang, Eric Alexander, Connor, Quinn, Larry Joe, Lanny Rance Stout, Lillian Nicole Bridges and Cole William Bridges.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Elbert Clem Jr. and George Clem; and her son, Larry Joseph Stout, who passed away on April 28, 1995.
The Rev. Steve Sorensen will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery in Union Township.
