Elizabeth J. “Bette” (Cain) Davy, 91, of Franklin passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014,
at Franklin Meadows.
She was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Indianapolis, to Lee and Clara (McEvoy) Cain. She married Robert R. Davy on May 28, 1946, he preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1997.
She graduated from Little Flower Grade School in 1936 and Miller Vocational High School in Minneapolis in 1940. She had been a secretary for J.P. Morley M.D. in Indianapolis for 17 years. She then had been a staff secretary for Indiana State Legislature House of Representatives for 16 years. She had also worked at the finance center at Fort Benjamin Harrison during World War II.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally A. (Howard) Davy-Smiley of Franklin; grandchildren, Nicholas L. Smiley of Indianapolis, Matthew L. Smiley of Greenwood and Anna L. Smiley of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, John Davy; and a brother, Robert Cain.
Services are private. Burial will take place in Anderson Cemetery in Indianapolis.
