Dennis L. Zook
Dennis L. Zook, 72, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
He was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Franklin to Carl and Lucille (Johnson) Zook.
He married Pamela Lee (Miller) Zook; she preceded him in death on March 23, 2013.
He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 107.
He had been a welder for Amtrak in Beech Grove for 40 years. He also had been an electrician’s assistant for Dick Sledge in Bargersville for several years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He loved karaoke on Friday nights at “the barn.”
Survivors include his children, Alan Zook (Darla) of Waynesville, Missouri, Daniel Zook (Karla) of Trafalgar, Kenneth Zook of Franklin, Dianna Fennell (Donny) of Messena, New York, Denise Richards (Daniel Larson) of Franklin, and Jennifer Lewis (John) of Greenwood; stepson, Lee Bingham of Franklin; an uncle, Merrill “Beezer” Johnson of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a stepdaughter, Melody Taulman on March 3, 2009; and brothers, Jim Zook and Gene Zook.
Franklin Masonic Lodge 107 will conduct a Masonic service at 1 p.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin with a service to immediately follow conducted by the Rev. Steve Sorensen. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. Friday until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
