Roberta Mae DeFelice
Roberta Mae (Soncrant) DeFelice, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014.
She was born June 18, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Irving J. and Thelma M. (Yingling) Soncrant.
Roberta retired from L.S. Ayres and Co. after 35 years of service.
She lovingly served as an active member of Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, in Indianapolis.
A perpetual student, she attended the Herron School of Art and studied under notable Indiana artists Elmer Taflinger, Edmund Brucker, Louise Thomas, Ron Mack and Robert Eberle. An accomplished artist in her own rite, she received awards for her works in the Hoosier Art Salon, the Indiana State Fair and other juried shows.
She was a member of the Southside Art League, CCA Gallery of Broad Ripple and Zionsville, and the Brown County Art League.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra (Philip) Martinelli and Gina M. Brehob; grandchildren, Jason Justice, Jennifer (Bryce) Ruble, Rachel Martinelli, Erick Brehob, C. Ryan Brehob and Karen (Heith) Kluttz; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Bailey Ruble, and Tyler, Trent and Ryker Kluttz; sisters-in-law, Rosalyn DeFelice, Janet Varney and June Haverfield; and numerous well-loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo F. DeFelice; and three siblings, Delores Rooker and Harry and James Soncrant.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
