Sonja (Kroonenberg) Parsley, 83, of Franklin, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis.
She was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to the late Dirk and Lea (Blaaser) Kroonenberg.
She was the clerk of Franklin City Court for Judge Robert D. Schafstall for 33 years. She previously worked at Lotus Garden restaurant in Greenwood.
She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.
Her family was her true passion in life.
She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, flowers and animals.
She was greatly beloved by her children, Rick Littleton of Franklin and Sharon “Sis” Thompson of Franklin; and her granddaughter, Danielle Thompson of Franklin. In addition to her children and granddaughter, Sonja is survived by her nephew, Jaap (Annet) Vlessing of Sloten, Netherlands.
She was proceeded in death by her sisters Selma, Beb and Gerda, all of Amsterdam.
The Rev. John Eley will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the mortuary.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Johnson County, 3827 N. Graham Road, Franklin, IN 46131.
