Patricia Kay ‘Patty’ Mandabach
Patricia Kay “Patty” (Hanger) Mandabach, 68, of Bargersville, was called to the Lord on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
She was born in Greencastle on July 15, 1945, one of 12 children to the late Leonard and Cecilia (Moore) Hanger.
She graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1963.
She married John Mandabach on Aug. 23, 1969, in Beech Grove; he survives.
Patty always put others’ needs before her own and was a mother and friend to everyone she met. Her kind spirit and soothing voice could calm any baby or animal. Patty enjoyed trips to Florida, cruising car shows and spending time with her family and friends. Though she will be dearly missed, Patty left a lasting impression on all those that knew her.
Patty is survived by her husband, John Mandabach of Bargersville; and two children, John Mandabach Jr. (Sarah) of Houston and Robert “Bob” Mandabach (Christina) of Avon. She also is survived by six grandchildren, Breanne, Josh, Kateri, Charlie, Adelaide and Graham. In addition, she is survived by siblings Leota Killin of Indianapolis, Jim Hanger (Loretta), Faye Caylor of Spencer, Leonard “Jr.” Hanger, Chuck Hanger (Josie) of Indianapolis and Karen Schmidt of Bargersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lee Hanger and Lloyd Hanger; a sister, Charlotte Chance; and two infant brothers.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
