Walter R. Campbell, 88, of Franklin passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center of Franklin.
Walter was born June 27, 1925, in Mitchell, the son of Harry and Lois Tincher Campbell. He married Elizabeth Burton Campbell; and she survives.
Walter also is survived by sons, Danny (Candy) and Charles Fritz Campbell, both of Edinburgh, and Harold (Sherry) Griggs of Franklin; daughter, Judy Campbell of Kentucky; stepsons, Jimmy (Marilyn) Burton and Junior Burton, both of Edinburgh, Jackie Burton of Taylorsville, and Jerry Burton and Johnny Burton, both of Franklin; stepdaughters, Judy (Gene) Coy of Edinburgh and Julie Ford of Franklin; a brother, Floyd D. (Ruby) Campbell of Greenwood; stepbrother, Charles Edward Farrell of Columbus; and a sister, Maxine Blair of Columbus.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Vannie Griggs; and two stepsons, Jeff and James Burton.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until time of service today at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
