Annie Lee Arthur Eckart
Annie Lee Arthur Eckart, 87, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully Friday, June 6, 2014, surrounded by all of her children. She was a longtime resident of Bargersville and, in later life, Mooresville.
She was born April 11, 1927, in Lynchburg, Virginia, the child of Grace Maryland (Bell) and Walter Stanley Arthur.
She graduated high school from Rush County Consolidated Schools and, after marriage, became a homemaker.
She married Francis Howard Eckart on Aug. 21, 1955; and they were married for 41 years until she was preceded in death by Francis in 1996. She also was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather, James O. Johnson.
Together, Francis and Annie raised four children, Robert Eckart (Laura) of Greenwood, Kathleen James (Dwayne) of Mooresville, Lee Eckart (Barbara) of Morgantown and James Eckart (Bryn) of Whiteland. Annie also had seven grandchildren, Audrey Eckart of Whiteland, Caleb Eckart of San Antonio, Rachel Mundinger (Ben) of Moline, Illinois, Adrienne Eckart and Jeremy Eckart, both of Greenwood, Tyler Eckart of Indianapolis and Mallory Eckart of Greenwood; and one great-granddaughter, Piper Mundinger.
She was a former member of Whiteland Christian Church.
Annie enjoyed the simple things in life: successfully raising a family, sewing, bird-watching, gardening, mowing her lawn and watching Pacers and Fever basketball. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
