Margaret Armeda Cronkrite Fisher
Margaret Armeda Cronkrite Fisher, 78, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014.
She was born in Peoria, Illinois, and raised in Henry, Illinois.
She graduated from Henry Senachwine High School and attended Bradley University in Peoria and the University of Illinois.
She worked as a private secretary to the vice president and general manager of Cummins Allison Corp. for 12 years in Indianapolis.
She married Wayne Fisher in 1966. They had two children, Jeffrey Fisher and Jill (Thomas) Walker; and one beautiful granddaughter, Madison Clara Walker.
She also is survived by a brother, Albert (Patty) Cronkrite; and a sister, Marian (Daryl) Halverson.
Margaret was active in her church, Christ United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, serving on several committees. She loved going to the symphony pops concerts. She was on the board of Christian Women’s Club. She belonged to a club for tall people called the Sky High Club.
A special thank-you to the Central Indiana Cancer Center and Community South Cancer Center for all their loving care.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to the American Cancer Society and Christ United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
