John David Jordan
John David Jordan, 72, of Englewood, Florida, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Christina Place in Franklin.
He was born Oct. 17, 1941, to the late William “Penny” and Elizabeth “Libby” Jordan. He was raised in Greenwood and was a 1959 graduate of Greenwood High School. As a teenager, he started working at Western Hardware, which was located on Main Street in Greenwood. He later bought the business and operated it until he retired and moved to Florida.
John was a former board member of the Greenwood Cemetery and a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge.
John is survived by a daughter, Julie (Jody) Roberts; a son, Jeff (Jane) Jordan; granddaughter, Alyssa Roberts; and grandson, Dakota Roberts. He also leaves behind sisters, Judy (Jim) Wright and Jenny (Skip) Hendricks; brother, Joe (Maggie) Jordan; and his special friend, Barbara Sipes.
A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Little and Sons Stop 11 Chapel, 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis.
In honor of John, please wear casual attire and make donations to the Merkle Cell Carcinoma Fund, in care of the funeral home, in lieu of flowers.
