Obituary: Carmen Luisa Lobdell, Indianapolis

The angels called Wednesday, May 28, 2014, to take Carmen Luisa (DeLaCruz) Lobdell to her final destination to see her beloved Donald Keith Lobdell once again for eternity.

Carmen was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Indianapolis to Pedro and Alicia Delacruz. Carmen was one of eight children.

Also preceding her in passing were three brothers; one sister; and one grandson, Anthony H. Lobdell.

Survivors include a sister, Grace DeLaCruz; and children, Thomas (Janice), Timothy (Theresa), Donna Lobdell-Monroe (Gregg), Lawrence (Leslie) and Ted (Debbie).

Carmen gave countless hours to her five children; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She had a love for all things simple and beautiful. She will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, ASPCA and the Humane Society of Indianapolis.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 State Road 135, Greenwood, and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
