Helen F. Taylor, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014.
She was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Valley View, Kentucky, to Frank D. and Della Ree (Rhodus) Hendrix. She was a graduate of Paris Crossing High School with the class of 1941. Helen worked at Camp Atterbury during World War II as a nurse, and she also worked at Noblitt and Sparks in Columbus.
She met her husband, Wesley I. Taylor, and they were married Oct. 11, 1947. Wesley preceded her in death May 10, 2011.
Helen was an avid bowler, and she loved to garden and spend time with her family.
Helen is survived by her son, Wesley D. (Toni) Taylor; daughters, Priscella (Gene) Rund and Sheila (Phil) Roberts; sisters-in-law, Mabel and Sue Hendrix; grandchildren, Heather (Dennis) Glover, Patrick (Shannon) Roberts and Stephani Wilson; two great- grandchildren, Alyssa and Gabe.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Leonard and William Ray Hendrix.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon Wednesday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Coffee Creek Christian Church cemetery fund, Paris Crossing, IN 47270.
