Tony Reed Hammer, 53, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014, at his home in Greenwood. He was born on Dec. 31, 1960, in Indianapolis.
He graduated from Lawrence North High School in 1979.
Tony was employed by U.S. Securities at Direct Shot located in Franklin.
Tony’s hobbies included technology, music and photography, and he regularly did volunteer work for Human Services Inc. Tony enjoyed spending time with family and friends and vacations in the Smoky Mountains.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Hammer, and his beloved pet, Chipper.
Tony is survived by his wife of 12½ years, Jill (Cox) Hammer; mother, Lecta Sue Hammer; sisters, Phyllis (Richard) Wilson, Theresa (Robert) Anderson and Melody (Tim) Biddle; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Jasmine.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Flanner and Buchanan Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, with a service beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Bear Rescue at appalachianbearrescue.org.
