Phyllis May Michael
Phyllis May Michael, 82, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was a resident of New Whiteland.
Phyllis was born Dec. 31, 1931, in Indianapolis, to Esther and Edward Orme.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Orme; and her sister, Jean Lewis.
She leaves her loving family: her husband of 62 years, William R. Michael; son, William L. (Leah) Michael; daughters, Debby (Chad) Kammerling and Teresa (Lindley) Myers; and grandchildren, Jennifer (Sean) Morrow, Lavonne (Steve) Thompson and Ben Myers.
Phyllis graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis in 1949.
After staying home to raise her children, she went back to work. She retired from Special Services, Johnson County Schools in 1997, where she made lifelong friends.
Phyllis enjoyed reading, watching movies, attending Beef & Boards, Pops symphonies and Concerts on the Canal, and gardening.
After retirement, she and Bill were able to travel to many places in the U.S. and had many pleasant memories of those travels.
The family wants to thank Community Hospital South Hospice, Cathy O., Dr. Mayer, Dr. Sheets and his team, and the nursing staff at Community Hospital South Oncology.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Phyllis will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.
