Bula Mae Murray
Bula Mae (Helms) Murray, 91, died Monday, April 28, 2014, in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
Bula was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Franklin.
She was employed with Bendix Corp. in assembly for 20 years, retiring in 1986.
She enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows and “The Price Is Right” on television and loved doing puzzle books, as many as four or five a week. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include two children, Edwin L. (Renea) Murray and Richard G. “Dicky” (Sharon) Murray, both of Franklin; a sister, Ula Faye McDonald of Franklin; three grandchildren, Beth Ann (Robert) Smith of Franklin, John (DeeAnn) Murray of Whiteland and Scott (Kelly) Murray of Greenwood; and six great-grandchildren, Rachel Murray, Porter Murray, Jordan Lee Murray, Mackenzie Smith, Carl Smith and Mattie Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mattie (Cannon) Helms; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Shaw and Villa Helms; a son, Robert Ray Murray; and her dog, Sammy.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel, 197 E. Jefferson St. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
