Larry L. Shoemaker, 80, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Community Hospital South.
The son of the late Clarence and Georgia Fraley Shoemaker, Larry was born May 14, 1933, in Beattyville, Ky.
Retired, Larry worked for Dannemiller True Value Hardware in Greenwood. He was a hard worker and enjoyed pheasant and quail hunting in his younger years. He was a family man enjoying the company of his grandchildren. He loved his Kentucky homestead and always looked forward to going there.
On Sept. 19, 1953, in Indianapolis, Larry married Ima Jean Jones, she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Donald L. (Kay) Shoemaker of Ft. Wayne and Ronald D. (Kathleen) Shoemaker of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; three daughters, Deborah (Owen) Lawn, Barbara Tumey and Glenda (Mark) Howe, all of Greenwood; a sister, Wilma Doyle of Lexington, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood assisting with arrangements.
