Vanessa M. (Weihermiller) Hansen, 94, of Lafayette, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at IU Health Arnett Hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1919, in Benton County, she was the daughter of the late George and Irma (Forney) Weihermiller.
She graduated from Wadena High School in 1937 and The Approved Beauty School of Indianapolis as a beautician in 1939 and worked in Lebanon and Fowler.
On Aug. 26, 1940, she married Chris B. Hansen of Fowler at Griggs Memorial Methodist Church in Goodland; and he survives.
She was a member for more than 50 years of Trinity United Methodist Church and a life member of Hope Chapter No. 5 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Elks Auxiliary and the Elks 9- and 18-hole golf leagues through the years.
She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and the piano by ear and ballroom dancing with her husband.
Surviving with her husband are three sons, Ronald K. Hansen (wife, Julianne) of Bellevue, Iowa, Kenneth D. Hansen (wife, Carol) of Greenwood and Brad C. Hansen of Franklin; a brother, Floyd Weihermiller of Largo, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jessica Wells (husband, Brian) and Kristan MacDonald (husband, Tim); two grandsons, Benjamin and Sean Hansen; two stepgrandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Janet Hansen.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. Ninth St., Lafayette, with Pastor Linda Dolby officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in Lafayette.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Lafayette BPO Elks Lodge No. 143 in care of the funeral home.
