Jessie E. Allen, 93, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
The daughter of Earl W. and Hazel M. McClellan Hathaway, Jessie was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Idaville.
A homemaker, she was a member of Pleasant Homemakers and Radnor (Ind.) United Methodist Church and attended Community Church of Greenwood.
Jessie is survived by a son, Jeff (Julie) Allen of Whiteland; two daughters, Karen (Charles) McDaniel of Bargersville and Janet Curry of Whiteland; grandchildren, Kristy (Ken) Donley, Angie (Phil) Christian, Jeff Curry, Greg Curry, Andy Allen and Lindsay Allen; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Sears, Claire Donley, Elijah Christian, Liam Christian, Eliana Christian, Nicolaus Curry, Tennyson Curry, Kylie Choate, Erin Choate, Brantley Jeffers and Gavin Allen; four brothers, Orville, George, Marion and Wayne Hathaway; three sisters, Nellie Peters, Lucille Geisler and Edna Capper; a brother-in-law, Tom Kempf; and two sisters-in-law, Jane Hathaway and Suzanne Hathaway.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Allen; five brothers, Donald, Russell, Thomas, Robert and Richard Hathaway; three sisters, Thelma Peters, Ruby Kempf and Faye Eyestone; and a son-in-law, Neff Curry.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
