James G. Simons, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014.
He was born Aug. 22, 1938, to the late Gerald and Jeanne Hornaday Simons.
Jim served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and married Mariana Deak in 1963.
He was employed with Indianapolis Water Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1995.
Jim was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts of America Band. He was the financial secretary for Firemen & Oilers Union Local No. 131 for 22 years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mariana Simons; two sons, Gregory L. (Linda) and Mark J. (Bonnie) Simons; a sister, Dianne Cox (Larry); two granddaughters, Julia and Kristen Simons; and two stepgrandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis.
