Shirley Rae Cook, 83, passed away March 28, 2014. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Marion, Ill., to the late William L. and Evelyn Rae (Moore) Singleton.
She is survived by her children, Terrence M. (Deborah) Cook and Mary Jane (Arlen) Packard; grandchildren, Kimberlee (Paul) Eckstein and Christina (Jeff) Trowbridge; great-grandchildren, Aaron Michael, Sarah Nicole, Elijah Monroe and Madeline Mae; and a sister, Sandra Pike.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Monroe Cook.
Shirley was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and an auxiliary member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Sigma Chapter.
She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, reading and making a home for family pets.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. April 14, at the Franklin United Methodist Community, Wright Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Franklin United Methodist Community.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Vandivier-Tudor Chapel.
