Betty Joan Hall
Betty Joan Hall, 87, formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at her daughter’s residence in Franklin.
Born March 31, 1927, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late William Morris and Mary (Emge) Morris.
On Dec. 18, 1943, in Kokomo, she married Walter J. Hall. He preceded her in death May 18, 1997.
She owned and operated Trim-Ette Beauty Salon and later worked as a Realtor. She also worked for La Mode Shoppe before retiring.
Survivors include one son, Robert (Candice) Hall of Key West, Fla.; one daughter, Kimberly (Steve) Earles of Franklin; two grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Hall of Indianapolis and Elizabeth Maxwell of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two stepgrandchildren, Carrie Kennedy of Indianapolis and Ryan (Rachel) Earles of Franklin; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Maxwell of New York City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, William, Max, Jack, Chester and Leslie “Bud” Morris; and four sisters, Helen Morris, Marjorie Ruman, Mildred Haworth and Eleanora Swain.
Cryptside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kokomo Memorial Park, 1300 E. North St., Kokomo. Father Marty Sandhage will officiate. Entombment will follow. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m Friday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo, and from noon to 12:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the procession to the cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the mortuary.
