Evelyn May Fry
Evelyn May (Holman) Fry, 95, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at her residence at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
Evelyn was born July 23, 1918, in Morgantown to Oris and Elva (Merriman) Holman.
She was a 1936 graduate of Morgantown High School.
She married Raymond M. Fry on July 21, 1946, in Morgantown. They were married for 63 years. Raymond preceded her in passing on March 21, 2010.
Evelyn worked in the cafeteria at Franklin Community High School for 18 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Second Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and of the Friendly 25 Home Economics Club, both in Franklin.
She enjoyed cooking, making pies and gardening. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, A. Kevin (Carolee) Fry of Mandeville, La.; a daughter, Cynthia (Jim) Abernathy of Burke, Va.; and two grandchildren, Alycia Kristin (Preston) Cochran and Clayton Kyle Abernathy.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Indiana Masonic Home, Kresge Chapel, 690 S. State St., Franklin. Friends and family may call from noon until service time Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
