Virginia Mae (Timbs) Cravens, 79, Whiteland, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
She was born Aug. 6, 1934, in Indianapolis and worked for Colonial Sugar Brokers until it was forced into bankruptcy by Castro when he nationalized the sugar industry in Cuba. She was then a homemaker. She moved to Johnson County in 1972 and resided in the same home since that time.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy J. Cravens; daughter, Dawn Acton of Whiteland; foster son, Ryan C. Soard of Chicago; two brothers, Joe Timbs of Greenwood and Bill Timbs of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Myrtle (Martin) Timbs; three sisters and three brothers.
There will be no services or viewing. Arrangements were entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donation be made in her name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
