Jo Helen Russell
Jo Helen Russell, 83, of Edinburgh, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
She was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Nashville, Tenn., to Eddie Walton Tuck and Beatrice (Seagraves) Tuck.
She worked at Amos Hill in Edinburgh, retiring as an office clerk in 1995 after 35 years of service.
She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
She enjoyed playing the piano and gospel music. She especially enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include six children, Mary Kathryn (the Rev. Randy) Tompkins of Byrdstown, Tenn., Deborah (Bobby) Parker of Shelbyville, and Brenda Kay (Wallace) Harmon, Martha Karen Orner, Peggy Burton and Joey (Vickie) Russell, all of Edinburgh; a brother, Jerry (Rosalind) Tuck of Albany, Ky.;
15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren plus two expected great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eddie Russell, on Oct. 6, 1953; a granddaughter, Amy Marie Harmon; and a sister, Betty Clark.
The Rev. Randy Tompkins will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
