Robert ‘Bob’ Creque
Robert “Bob” Creque, 87, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014.
He was born Dec. 27, 1926, in Indianapolis.
Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 at the age of 17 and proudly served his country during World War II.
He married Jo Knight on June 17, 1961, and was employed in the heat treatment division of Allison Transmission division of General Motors for 33 years, retiring in 1983.
Bob was a member of Spearsville Road Church of Christ.
He loved his “four acres,” considering it his piece of “heaven” on Earth. He enjoyed woodworking, dancing, swimming and cookouts with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jo Creque; children, Linda Freeman Hall, Paula (Frank) Bongen , Lisa Kibbe (Guy), Mark Creque, Debra Abel and Lori Bishop (Steve); sister, Mary Ann Skutt (Dale); 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob’s parents, Walter and Darlene Long; and sister, Maxine Creque Vittorio, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be at noon April 12 at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service April 12 at the funeral home.
