Walter Eugene “Gene” Million, 85, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin and former longtime resident of Bengal.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1929, in Franklin to Ashford G.
and Dora C. (Cary) Million.
Gene is survived by three sons, Kenneth Eugene Million of Franklin, David Edward Million of Winter Haven, Fla., and Randy Wayne Million of Franklin; two grandchildren, Shawn Elliott Million and Christy Danielle Million and three great-grandsons, Austin, Tyler and Dillon Million. Also surviving are two brothers, William Million of Franklin and Charles R. Million of Franklin; and one sister, Judy Ann Garrison of Franklin.
He was preceded in passing by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
He attended Franklin Community High School.
Gene retired after 40 years of service as a Truck Driver for R.O. Barber in Franklin.
He was a member of First Mt. Pleasant Church in Bengal. He enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and woodworking.
A service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
