Forrest Eugene McLinn, 84, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at his residence in Franklin.
Forey was born on April 8, 1929, in Indianapolis, the son of John and Myrtle McLinn. He grew up in the Fountain Square area. He met his wife, Patricia Ann Goldman McLinn at the Boys Club in Fountain Square in 1950. They were married until her death in August 2009.
Forey was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann McLinn; daughter, Cathy Sue McLinn King; son, Michael Jeffrey McLinn;
sisters, Della and Almeda; and brothers, Charles, Ralph, Frank and James.
He is survived by his children, Phyllis McLinn, Fred McLinn, Margaret McLinn Zell and Kelly McLinn Britt; and son-in-laws, David Britt and Randy King; and daughter-in-law, Jill McLinn. He also is survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Forey was a veteran of two branches of the armed services, the Marines and the Army. Forey lived life to the fullest. He loved to make people laugh. He had a way of telling a story that was uniquely his own, and always with wit and humor. He will be remembered with love and laughter by his family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
