M. Lucille Phillips Crawshaw Smith
M. Lucille Phillips Crawshaw Smith, 98, of Franklin, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014.
She was born May 26, 1915, in Indianapolis, to the late Joseph and Vida Ryan Phillips.
Lucille graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1933.
She was a member of Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
She was employed as an inspector at Curtis Wright during World War II. She retired from Stark and Wetzel as a secretary and then sold Avon products for more than 25 years.
Survivors include her children, Richard (Bonnie) Crawshaw and Laura (Bryan) Ray; five grandchildren, Michael (Betsy) Crawshaw, Cheryl Jordan, Gary (Michele) Crawshaw, Kerry (Amanda) Crawshaw and Zachary Snyder; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Crawshaw; her second husband, Jack Smith; three sisters, Gladis Phillips, Cecil Heitman and Luella Lamb; and two brothers, Kenneth and George Phillips.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
