Anita was a compassionate soul who adamantly believed in equality for everyone. She spent her younger years fighting for many causes near and dear to her heart.
She was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Paterson, N.J., and was the oldest of three sisters.
Survivors include a son, Jonathan Zolin; two sisters, Cindy (Steve) Aque and Holley (Jeff) Robinson; two nieces, Sarah and Abbey, a nephew, Michael; a great-niece, Hadley; and several cousins.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eleanor Custard.
Anita was fortunate to have several lifelong friends whom she considered as close as family.
Anita graduated from Olney Friends School in Barnesville, Ohio, and attended Urbana College. She was actively involved with Olney alumni and enjoyed seeing these friends at reunions.
A celebration of life for Anita will be held at a later date in Michigan, where Anita spent most of her adult life.
Anita’s family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Anita’s spirit.
