Lucille C. Gilbert, 99, of Edinburgh, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
She was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Edinburgh to the late William D. and Mary K. (Dyke) Clark.
She married Loran “Peanut” Gilbert on July 6, 1935. He died Feb. 1, 1998.
She is survived by her brother, Donald A. Clark of Edinburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry D. Gilbert; and siblings, Maurice D., Kenneth, Walter, Harlen and Merle J. Clark, Thelma Burton, Daisy Odem and Martha Davis.
She was a member of the former First Christian Church in Edinburgh.
She retired after 35 years of service from Arvin Industries in Columbus.
She was an avid sports fan, especially of IU basketball and Colts football.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh, with the Rev. Bill Leohr officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
