Gary Dean Stillabower
Gary Dean Stillabower, 62, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, in Franklin. Gary was a resident of Franklin and longtime resident of Whiteland and Johnson County.
He was born Feb. 15, 1952, in Franklin.
He graduated from Whiteland Community High School, class of 1970, and received an associate’s degree from Ivy Tech Community College.
Gary was an United States Navy veteran.
He married Karen Purdue on Aug. 11, 1973, in Whiteland; they were married for 40 years.
Gary was employed with Marshall Mechanical in Franklin for three years.
He was owner and operator of Stillabower Heating and Air Conditioning Co. for 20 years in Whiteland.
He enjoyed golfing, watching sports and coaching baseball with his children.
He loved spending time with his family.
His pride and joy was his 2006 Mustang GT. He enjoyed driving and working on his car.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Stillabower of Franklin; parents, Don V. and Betty (Ratliff) Stillabower of Greenwood; three children, Nick Stillabower and Brad (Annie) Stillabower, both of Franklin, and Renee Stillabower of Greenwood; a sister, Dawn Eastburn of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Cody Bullock, Allison Shelburn, Ava Stillabower, Eleanor Stillabower and Isabel Stillabower; a nephew, Mark Eastburn; and a niece, Dana Petro.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31. Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown with military honors.
