Janet Lou Burton
Janet Lou Burton, 75, of Edinburgh, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at her residence.
She was born March 11, 1938, in Edinburgh to the late Samp and Mollie Mae (Long) Whittington.
She married Bobby Ray Burton on March 21, 1953. He died Nov. 21, 2006.
Survivors include her children, James L. Burton of Amarillo, Texas, Allen Ray (Becky) Burton and Mary (David) Patterson, both of Franklin, the Rev. Rodney (Kim) Burton of Carthage, Ill., David Burton, and Lisa (Gobel) Brockman, Rhonda (Tim) Barrett and Becky (David) Whilhelm, all of Edinburgh; sisters, Alice Smith of Edinburgh and Shirley Beechler of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Samuel, Bobby, Kenneth, Richard and Ora Whittington, Raymond Burton, Betty Gross and Margaret Willey; grandson, Mathew James Burton; and great-granddaughter, Kellin Dawn Littlejohn.
She was a member of Edinburgh Grace Tabernacle.
She was a homemaker.
Her legacy consisted of starting her day with the word of God, sharing Jesus with others and spending time with her family.
A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church, 904 S. Holland St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, Edinburgh.
