Franklin Delano Smith, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born on Jan. 5, 1934, in Kona, Ky., to Harry H. and Flora B. (Sanders) Smith.

He married Jacqueline (Rash) Smith on Dec. 22, 1956. She lovingly survives in Franklin.

Other survivors include his children, Roger W. (Kim) Smith, Teresa M. (Ronnie) Brown, Jacque E. (Carl) Tanner, James E. Smith and Renee (Rob) Crowell; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Merril Smith; and sisters, Dorothy Cone and Lois Sears.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; six siblings; and two sons, Donald R. Smith and Brian R. Smith; granddaughter, Jessica (Brown) Olsen; and great-grandson, Aiden Olsen.

Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He retired after 32 years of dedicated service with TNT Holland.

He was a member of the American Legion.

Frank enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
