Frances Faye ‘Boomer’ Davis
Frances Faye “Boomer” Davis, 78, of Franklin, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Bedford to the late John H. and Flora M. (Hughes) Duncan. She married Phillip R. Davis on July 7, 1956. He died Feb. 15, 1990.
Survivors include her beloved dog, Emma; four children, Karen (James) Pease of Franklin, Brenda Davis of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Michael (Kathy) Davis and Kevin (Melody) Davis, both of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Grover “Bud” Duncan.
She graduated from Bedford High School and Indianapolis General Hospital Nursing Program in 1957.
She was a member of St. George Lutheran Church in Edinburgh.
She retired in 1988 from Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin as a registered obstetrics nurse after 38 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and IU basketball.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. George Lutheran Church, 10931 S. County Road 600W, Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
